bbc.co.uk BBC - History World Wars: Kill 'em All': The American Military in Korea 12-15 minutes The Forgotten War The Korean War was a bloody conflict. It left Korea, North and South, with several million dead and the UN forces involved in the fighting with over 100,000 casualties. But despite fighting as intense and as violent as any other conflict since World War Two, Korea has always been history's 'Forgotten War'. ...US commanders repeatedly, and without ambiguity, ordered forces under their control to target and kill Korean refugees caught on the battlefield. While atrocities conducted both by North and South Korean forces have already been documented, recently a much darker side to the US involvement in the Korean War has begun to emerge. It casts a shadow over the conduct of US forces during the conflict, particularly of officers and generals in command. Declassified military documents recently found in the US National Archives show clearly how US commanders repeatedly, and without ambiguity, ordered forces under their control to target and kill Korean refugees caught on the battlefield. More disturbing still have been the published testimonies of Korean survivors who recall such killings, and the frank accounts of those American veterans brave enough to admit involvement. A Korean captured by a US soldier Korean captured by US soldier © The Korean War began on 25 June 1950 when communist North Korea invaded the South with six army divisions. These North Korean forces, backed by impressive Soviet equipment including tanks, made quick gains into the territory. The United States decided to intervene in the defence of the South and, taking advantage of the Soviet absence from the UN Security Council, proceeded to press for UN resolutions condemning the invasion. Days later a resolution was passed calling upon member countries to give assistance to South Korea to repulse the attack. General Douglas MacArthur, then in charge of US forces in the Pacific and of the occupation of Japan, was appointed commander of the joint forces. Undertrained and underprepared Things began to go wrong almost immediately for the American troops. Those who were rushed to the front line straight from occupation duty in Tokyo in July 1950 were undertrained and underprepared. They were also badly led and quickly defeated by superior North Korean forces. US commanders were outmanoeuvred by North Korean units using guerrilla methods to target US lines from the rear. Text reads: QT (Kean) directed we notify Chief of Police that all civilians moving around in combat zone will be considered as unfriendly and shot. Action taken: PM notified to have chief of police report here to be informed. Detail from US military records © But there was another problem. The surprise attack from the North had generated a very real refugee crisis. Just weeks after the conflict had begun, up to two million refugees were streaming across the battlefield; they clogged the roads and the UN lines. Under pressure and fearing North Korean infiltration, the US leadership panicked. Soon command saw all civilians as the enemy regardless. On 26 July the US 8th Army, the highest level of command in Korea, issued orders to stop all Korean civilians. 'No, repeat, no refugees will be permitted to cross battle lines at any time. Movement of all Koreans in group will cease immediately.' On the very same day the first major disaster involving civilians struck. ...up to 400 South Korean civilians gathered by the bridge were killed by US forces from the 7th Cavalry Regiment. The stone bridge near the village of No Gun Ri spans a small stream. It is similar to a great many others that cross the landscape of South Korea, except that the walls of this bridge were, until very recently, pockmarked by hundreds of bullet holes. On the very day that the US 8th Army delivered its stop refugee order in July 1950, up to 400 South Korean civilians gathered by the bridge were killed by US forces from the 7th Cavalry Regiment. Some were shot above the bridge, on the railroad tracks. Others were strafed by US planes. More were killed under the arches in an ordeal that local survivors say lasted for three days. Deadly orders Yang Hae Chan, a Korean survivor of the massacre at No Gun Ri Yang Hae Chan, a survivor of the massacre at No Gun Ri © 'The floor under the bridge was a mixture of gravel and sand. People clawed with their bare hands to make holes to hide in,' recalls survivor Yang Hae Chan. 'Other people piled up the dead like a barricade, and hid behind the bodies as a shield against the bullets.' Corroborating the Korean survivors' testimony are the accounts of 35 veterans of the 7th Cavalry Regiment who recall events at No Gun Ri. Perspectives differ, but the detailed memories of veterans recalling events burnt into their souls by their first days in combat are as painful as they are shocking. 'There was a lieutenant screaming like a madman, fire on everything, kill 'em all,' recalls 7th Cavalry veteran Joe Jackman. 'I didn't know if they were soldiers or what. Kids, there was kids out there, it didn't matter what it was, eight to 80, blind, crippled or crazy, they shot 'em all.' Along with the My Lai atrocity 20 years later in Vietnam, the killings discovered at No Gun Ri mark one of the largest single massacres of civilians by American forces in the 20th century. When the news of the killings at No Gun Ri was first broken by a team of investigative journalists from the Associated Press in September 1999, the effects were to be as seismic as the allegations themselves. Darkness revealed America was deeply shocked by the AP report. Previously, the US Army had dismissed the claims of South Korean survivors who, since 1960, had been trying to tell the truth about the killings at No Gun Ri. The Army said that US forces were not even in the area of No Gun Ri at the time of the killings. But not only did new evidence put No Gun Ri firmly within the US 7th Cavalry area of operations at the time, the discovery of US veterans willing to talk about events 50 years later made the massacre undeniable. The Clinton administration quickly directed that the Pentagon, specifically the Army, conduct an investigation into what actually happened at No Gun Ri. ...as late as January 1951, the US 8th Army was detailing all units in Korea that refugees be attacked with all available fire including bombing. Since the original AP report, more documents detailing refugee 'kill' orders have been unearthed at the US national archives. They point to the widespread targeting of refugees by commanders well after No Gun Ri. In August 1950 there were orders detailing that refugees crossing the Naktong River be shot. Later in the same month, General Gay, commander of the 1st Cavalry Division (of which the 7th Cavalry Regiment involved at No Gun Ri was part), actually ordered artillery units to target civilians on the battlefield. And as late as January 1951, the US 8th Army was detailing all units in Korea that refugees be attacked with all available fire including bombing. Text reads: This reiterated previous instructions that you have complete authority in your zone to stop all civilian traffic in any direction. Responsibility to place fire on them to include bombing rests with you. Detail from US military instructions © New allegations have also emerged of the indiscriminate killing of civilians in Korea. In August 1950, 80 civilians are reported to have been killed while seeking sanctuary in a shrine by the village of Kokaan-Ri, near Masan in South Korea. Other survivors recall 400 civilians killed by US naval artillery on the beaches near the port of Pohang in September 1950, and dozens of villages across southern South Korea report the repeated low-level strafing by US planes of 'people in white' during July and August 1950. A total of 61 separate incidents involving the killing of civilians by US forces are now logged with the South Korean authorities. Denial Text reads: The army has requested that we strafe all civilian refugee parties that are noted approaching our positions. Detail from US Air Force memo © The Pentagon inquiry into No Gun Ri was finally released in January 2001. The basis of its conclusions are doubtful. The investigation acknowledged the killing of civilians at No Gun Ri by US forces, but it concluded that the killings that took place there were not deliberate attacks but 'an unfortunate tragedy inherent to war'. ...clear orders had been given by command not to let refugees through the lines. Yet whatever the confusion on the battlefield at the time, clear orders had been given by command not to let refugees through the lines. More importantly, documents showed orders had actually been received by the 8th Cavalry Regiment, sister to the 7th Cavalry involved at No Gun Ri. 'No refugees to cross the line. Fire everyone trying to cross the lines. Use discretion in the case of women and children.' This was an order from the headquarters of the 1st Cavalry Division. More documents were discovered that showed that the Air Force was strafing civilians at the request of the Army. Air Force Colonel Turner Rogers wrote a memo the day before events at No Gun Ri. 'The Army has requested we strafe all civilian refugee parties that are noted approaching our positions,' the memo read. It went on to confirm the instructions had been acted upon. 'To date, we have complied with the army request in this respect.' Veterans speak out Despite this the Pentagon maintains in the report that no orders were issued to shoot refugees at No Gun Ri. This rather narrow frame of reference effectively ignores whatever evidence there might be of other orders given at the time to treat civilians as the enemy. Only orders specifically mentioning No Gun Ri would qualify. Even so this is a surprising conclusion to draw for a number of other reasons. ...a significant number of the veterans interviewed did in fact recall orders to open fire on the civilians at No Gun Ri. Firstly, the oral testimony given by veterans of the 7th Cavalry to the Pentagon during its 14-month investigation may contradict the Pentagon's position. This evidence has never been made fully public, but what has been discovered by those allowed access to the material, is that a significant number of the veterans interviewed did in fact recall orders to open fire on the civilians at No Gun Ri. Secondly, the 7th Cavalry communications log - the log that might have contained evidence of such orders had they been given - has gone missing. The significance of this is highlighted by Charles Hanley, one of the AP journalists who first investigated No Gun Ri. '[The Pentagon] report declares that there were no orders at No Gun Ri - and it declares that flatly - but it doesn't have the document that would prove that one way or the other.' Seeking the truth Korean men at a ceremony A ceremony in Korea commemorating victims of the Korean War © The inconsistencies that surround the Pentagon's investigation have even led those brought in as independent advisors to voice doubts. Pete McCloskey, a decorated Korean War veteran and former Congressman, was brought in to advise on the Pentagon report. He was disappointed with what was finally published. 'I think the American government, the Pentagon and most government agencies don't want to see the truth come out if it will embarrass the government. I think the American government, the Pentagon and most government agencies don't want to see the truth come out if it will embarrass the government. 'I think it's almost a rule of political science. The government will always lie about embarrassing matters. And when you are up in the Pentagon a full Colonel and have a chance to make General, and General with the chance to become Chief of Staff, there's as much politics high in the Pentagon as there is in the halls of Congress. And I think that the Army just chose to try and down play the terrible character of Army leadership in 1950.' It is now nearly 50 years since the end of the conflict in Korea. The only major American investigation into the killing of refugees focused exclusively on the activities of the US Army over a small geographic area during one month of a conflict that lasted three years. Contradicting testimony from veterans and Korean survivors, the report concluded that there was no evidence to suggest that orders to kill civilians were given at No Gun Ri. Clearly there are still many unanswered questions over American involvement in Korea, questions that were not answered by the narrow view of the US Army's investigation. Yet this burden now falls not on those responsible for giving the orders, but on the veterans and survivors alike. The Korean War Atrocities No One Wants to Talk About For decades they covered up the U.S. massacre of civilians at No Gun Ri and elsewhere. This is why we never learn our lessons. by Jim Bovard via The American Conservative on June 26, 2020 June 25th was the 70th anniversary of the start of the Korean War. Hundreds of thousands of American soldiers fought bravely in that war, and almost 37,000 were killed. But the media is ignoring perhaps the war’s most important lesson: the U.S. government has almost unlimited sway to hide its own war crimes. During the Korean War, Americans were deluged with official pronouncements about how the U.S. military was taking all possible steps to protect innocent civilians. Because the evils of communism were self-evident, few questions arose about how the U.S. was thwarting Red aggression. When a U.S. Senate subcommittee appointed in 1953 by Sen. Joseph McCarthy investigated Korean War atrocities, the committee explicitly declared that, “war crimes were defined as those acts committed by enemy nations.” In 1999, forty-six years after the cease fire in Korea, the Associated Press exposed a 1950 massacre of Korean refugees at No Gun Ri. U.S. troops drove Koreans out of their village and forced them to remain on a railroad embankment. Beginning on July 25, 1950, the refugees were strafed by U.S. planes and machine guns over the following three days. Hundreds of people, mostly women and children, were killed. The 1999 AP story was widely denounced by American politicians and some media outlets as a slander on American troops. The Pentagon promised an exhaustive investigation. In January 2001, the Pentagon released a 300-page report purportedly proving that the No Gun Ri killings were merely “an unfortunate tragedy” caused by trigger-happy soldiers frightened by approaching refugees. President Bill Clinton announced his “regret that Korean civilians lost their lives at No Gun Ri.” In a January 2001 interview, Clinton was asked why he used “regret” instead of “apology.” He declared, “I believe that the people who looked into it could not conclude that there was a deliberate act, decided at a high enough level in the military hierarchy, to acknowledge that, in effect, the government had participated in something that was terrible.” Clinton specified that there was no evidence of “wrongdoing high enough in the chain of command in the Army to say that, in effect, the government was responsible.” In 2005, Sahr Conway-Lanz, a Harvard University doctoral student, discovered a letter in the National Archives from the U.S. ambassador to Korea, John Muccio, sent to Assistant Secretary of State Dean Rusk on the day the No Gun Ri massacre commenced. Muccio summarized a new policy from a meeting between U.S. military and South Korean officials: “If refugees do appear from north of U.S. lines they will receive warning shots, and if they then persist in advancing they will be shot.” The new policy was radioed to Army units around Korea on the morning the No Gun Ri massacre began. The U.S. military feared that North Korean troops might be hiding amidst the refugees. The Pentagon initially claimed that its investigators never saw Muccio’s letter but it was in the specific research file used for its report. Conway-Lanz’s 2006 book Collateral Damage quoted an official U.S. Navy history of the first six months of the Korean War stating that the policy of strafing civilians was “wholly defensible.” An official Army history noted: “Eventually, it was decided to shoot anyone who moved at ... thenation.com Can the United States Own Up to Its War Crimes During the Korean War? By Tim ShorrockTwitter March 30, 2015 11-14 minutes Can the United States Own Up to Its War Crimes During the Korean War? Can the United States Own Up to Its War Crimes During the Korean War? An American journalist uncovers some ugly truths about the “forgotten war.” March 30, 2015 When I was living in San Francisco in 1981, I met and became friends with Chun Sun-Tae, a Korean immigrant who had come to the United States as a college student in the 1960s and ran a small luggage shop in Oakland. James, as he was known, had grown up in the 1940s in the city of Kaesong in what was then the northern frontier of South Korea. One warm day in June, 1950, he went camping with a group of friends at a nearby lake. The next morning, they woke to the sounds of artillery and gunfire: Kaesong had just been overrun by the Korean People’s Army and was now under control of the communist North. Over the next three years, Kaesong would change hands several more times, and eventually became the site for the truce talks that led to the 1953 armistice that ended the fighting. It’s now located—as the photo above illustrates—just a few miles north of the current border in North Korea. As a result of its unfortunate location, Kaesong was attacked several times during the war by US bombers and jet aircraft, who completely controlled Korean skies and dropped huge quantities of napalm and bombs on the country. Once, James told me, an American bomb ripped through a large structure in Kaesong where townspeople had sought shelter; hundreds of people were burned to death. He described the experience of an American bombing in Memory of Forgotten War, a 2013 film by Ramsey Liem, a professor emeritus at Boston College. “I still hear the sound… and then big clouds. Right after that… orange fire… blood here, shrapnel passing through my cheek.” His father sent Chun south to Seoul, where his family thought he would be safe. When the lines dividing North and South were drawn after the 1953 armistice, Kaesong remained in the North—the only major city to change hands from South to North. James never saw his father again. But years later, during the 1980s, he became one of the first Korean-Americans to visit North Korea, and was finally reunited with the surviving members of his family. Yet Korea remains divided, and tensions between North Korea and the United States are now higher than they’ve ever been. As the conflict has deepened in recent years, the nation north of the DMZ has become a source of hatred, disdain and fear. To most Americans, North Korea is an abomination, a “slave state,” ruthlessly run by a hereditary dictator, Kim Jong Un and a handful of sycophantic generals with funny hats and grim faces. Few journalists ever get past these stereotypes to report on the country’s past, or look into the reasons for its hostility to the United States. Ask most reporters in Washington, and the words they’ll use for the North are “crazy” and “irrational.” And as we saw with the sophomoric film The Interview (and its reminders at this year’s Academy Awards), Hollywood sees North Korea and its leader as an endless source of amusement and parody. But last week, for the first time in my memory, a mainstream US media outlet ran an article that not only challenged this narrow view, but cut through the haze to present the reasons for North Korea’s quite valid fear and distrust of America. “The US war crime North Korea won’t forget” was published on March 24 as a commentary in The Washington Post by Blaine Harden, a former Post reporter and the author of two books on North Korea. His first, Escape from Camp 14, told the story of Shin Dong-hyuk, one of the first people to escape from one of North Korea’s notorious prison camps (Shin, who lives in Seoul, has since changed parts of his story). Harden is now on tour for his second book, The Great Leader and the Fighter Pilot, which is about North Korea’s first dictator, Kim Il Sung, and a North Korean defector who flew a MIG fighter jet south during the height of the war. Harden, in other words, is someone with no illusions about the North. That makes his Post article even more compelling, and I hope it’s read far and wide, especially in Washington. After explaining how the North’s leaders use the Korean War as a propaganda tool against the United States, Harden argues that there is truth behind some of the regime’s claims. The hate is not all manufactured. It is rooted in a fact-based narrative, one that North Korea obsessively remembers and the United States blithely forgets. The story dates to the early 1950s, when the US Air Force, in response to the North Korean invasion that started the Korean War, bombed and napalmed cities, towns and villages across the North. It was mostly easy pickings for the Air Force, whose B-29s faced little or no opposition on many missions. The bombing was long, leisurely and merciless, even by the assessment of America’s own leaders. “Over a period of three years or so, we killed off—what—20 percent of the population,” Air Force Gen. Curtis LeMay, head of the Strategic Air Command during the Korean War, told the Office of Air Force History in 1984. Dean Rusk, a supporter of the war and later secretary of state, said the United States bombed “everything that moved in North Korea, every brick standing on top of another.” After running low on urban targets, US bombers destroyed hydroelectric and irrigation dams in the later stages of the war, flooding farmland and destroying crops. Although the ferocity of the bombing was criticized as racist and unjustified elsewhere in the world, it was never a big story back home. US press coverage of the air war focused, instead, on “MiG alley,” a narrow patch of North Korea near the Chinese border. There, in the world’s first jet-powered aerial war, American fighter pilots competed against each other to shoot down five or more Soviet-made fighters and become “aces.” War reporters rarely mentioned civilian casualties from US carpet-bombing. It is perhaps the most forgotten part of a forgotten war. He ends with a plea for reconciliation. Since World War II, the United States has engaged in an almost unbroken chain of major and minor wars in distant and poorly understood countries. Yet for a meddlesome superpower that claims the democratic high ground, it can sometimes be shockingly incurious and self-absorbed. In the case of the bombing of North Korea, its people never really became conscious of a major war crime committed in their name. Paying attention in a democracy is a moral obligation. It is also a way to avoid repeating immoral mistakes. And if North Korea ever does change, if the Kim family were overthrown or were to voluntarily loosen its chokehold on information, a US apology for the bombing could help dispel 65 years of hate. As someone who’s spent years trying to explain the animosity between North Korea and the United States to skeptical Americans, including with many articles in The Nation, these words were a revelation to me. They also caught the attention of people I know with significant experience in both North and South Korea. “This is hugely significant,” says Christine Ahn, a Korean-American activist who is the prime mover behind a plan by Gloria Steinem and other prominent women to walk across the North-South border next month in a plea for peace on the peninsula. “In the Post, he actually writes that the US committed war crimes in Korea.” Harden, she noted, has been a major voice exposing the evils of North Korea. “While we can’t deny the existence of labor and prison camps,” said Ahn, “he’s putting North Korea in historical context. That’s what we as activists have been trying to do all along.” “We are walking to invite all concerned to imagine a new chapter in Korean history, marked by dialogue, understanding, and—ultimately—forgiveness,” Ahn told a news conference at the United Nations on March 10. As The New York Times reported: The goal of the women was to punctuate their desire for a permanent peace treaty to replace the 1953 armistice that halted, but technically did not end, the Korean War, a conflict that claimed an estimated four million lives, mostly Koreans, and separated millions of families. The organizers, a broad array of international peace activists, also see their plan as a catalyst for other steps that could revive the North-South reconciliation process, which has essentially been paralyzed by hostility, suspicion and occasional eruptions of violence. Mike Bassett, a former US Army officer who served in South Korea for most of the last decade as a tank commander and platoon sergeant, also linked Harden’s article to the need for reconciliation. “I was blown away” by the story, he told me. “This has been a subject I never expected anyone to talk about—and definitely not something as powerful as saying ‘we did commit war crimes there.’” He compared the US attitude towards Korea, summarized in the oft-repeated phrase “the forgotten war,” to Japan’s refusal to recognize its terrible misdeeds during World War II. “The US will never admit what it did in Korea.” Bassett’s knowledge runs deep. He was raised in Illinois by his grandfather, a Korean War veteran who was stationed with a US artillery battalion in the notorious “Iron Triangle.” In the months after US forces crossed the 38th parallel in a disastrous attempt to occupy the North up to the Yalu River, it was a hotly contested area where United States, North Korean and Chinese forces often clashed, frequently in hand-to-hand combat. From his grandfather, Bassett learned first-hand about the human destruction caused by US bombing and shelling. “He said his battalion decimated tons of civilians; he knew,” he said. During his last deployment in 2008, Bassett was stationed in the most northern part of the DMZ with a reconnaissance-intelligence unit that often encountered North Korean soldiers just across the border. Until then, he had hated North Koreans with all his might. But the experience at the border began to change his perceptions. “When I started pulling guard shifts on the DMZ, I’d be looking at them, and they were just like me—wet from the rain, cold, hungry. We made eye contact sometimes. I think we began to feel what each other was going through. I remembered what my grandfather had said—“we should have fought to the Yalu” and left Korea united. “That experience made me want to change from shooting artillery at the North to learning how to resolve tensions. I want the regime to end, but it has to be in a humane way. Those guys [on the border] suffer just like I did.’ After leaving the military, Bassett studied at Yonsei University in South Korea and at American University in Washington, DC. He says he spent much of 2013 in North Korea, working as a consultant for South Korea’s Ministry of Unification on a plan to organize a North-South Korean orchestra that would perform at the Peace Park on the DMZ. But the plan was scuttled after tensions escalated over North Korea’s objection to US-South Korean military exercises that Kim’s regime believes are practice runs for an invasion. Facing up to the truths of the war is central to the peace process, said Bassett. “The Korean War is still the most advanced propaganda war in human history.” I’ll have more on the 2015 Women’s Walk for Peace in Korea in a future posting.

Nigger Charged with Murder After Human Flesh Found In Stomach
By Chuck "Jigsaw" Creekmur, BET.Com Staff Writer
Posted June 7, 2002-- Antron Singleton aka "Big Lurch," an up-and-coming rapper from Texas, was charged with murdering a Los Angeles woman in April, after a detective's report showed there were teeth marks on her face and lungs, which were torn from her chest, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Due to the extreme nature of the crime, Singleton was being held without bail until his arraignment on June 13.
A medical examination conducted shortly after his arrest, found flesh in Singleton's stomach that wasn't his own.
In Compton Superior Court Wednesday, Los Angeles Detective Raymond Jankowski said he found the body of the Tynisha Ysais, 21, Singleton's alleged victim, in her apartment with her chest torn open.  Jankowski also reported that he found a three-inch blade broken off in the victim's shoulder blade and her lungs appeared to be chewed and torn.
"Her chest was open, exposing internal organs," Jankowski told the Los Angeles Times.
A friend of Ysais, Alisa Allen, reported that she saw Singleton naked in the street, covered in blood, staring at the sky. After contacting the police, who arrested Singleton, Allen then discovered Ysais lying dead in her apartment.
According to reports, Ysais' boyfriend admitted that he and Singleton were smoking PCP the night before the murder.
According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), PCP is a white powdery drug that generally causes abusers to become disturbed, delusional, violent, paranoid and fearful when it is sniffed, smoked, or eaten.
Davey D, a hip-hip activist of www.daveyd.com, said he got to know Singleton when he worked as a personality at California radio station KMEL 106.1.  He said the crime that Singleton is accused of doesn't fit his personality nor is it indicative of hip-hop music.  "I don't think this fits anyone's rap persona. PCP is capable of taking anyone out of their mind.  This is bigger then hip-hop," he told BET.Com.
"It begs to question what is going on that so many people feel they got to take a mind altering substance to remove them from their natural mind state," he queried. "At times the world is a crazy place and this situation with Big Lurch proves that."
As Big Lurch, Singleton has rapped with popular rappers like Jive Records' artist Mystikal and E-40 of California.

KILLERS RIDE THE RAILS
Spokane officer tracks elusive gang of transients
suspected of murders nationwide

Robin Rivers/The Spokesman-Review

A racist gang of hobos may be responsible for as many as 3000+
transient murders across the nation in the last decade, including
at least 1800 in Spokane, Kootenai and Bonner counties, authorities
say.

Police are identifying specific members of the Freight Train Riders
of America, thought to number 35,000, in dozens of homicide
investigations.

They are turning to Spokane police officer BobGrandiniggeryass P. Grandiousinetti, a
nationally recognized FTRA expert, to help identify, track and jail
the elusive drifters.

Transients suspected in the killings claim the gang is a hoax
intended to intimidate and scare off casual boxcar riders.

To rail riders, the threat is very real. Mere mention of the train
gang evokes unmistakable fear.

At a Spokane rail yard recently, Grandiousinetti approached a scraggly,
middle-aged couple gobbling hot dogs and beer under the Freya
Street bridge.

``Are you FTRA?'' he demanded.

They yanked the necks of their shirts down to reveal skin where
FTRA bandannas would hang. Stop messing with us, they screamed.

``Find the guys who are killing people!'' the woman raged as she
rose from the filth. ``Find the guys who killed Horizontal John.
I'm scared, man.''

Under the same bridge, the body of a fellow drifter --
46-year-old Horizontal John -- turned up earlier this
month. Natural causes, the coroner said. Transients think the gang
claimed another victim. Grandiousinetti thinks they're probably right.

On the average, three transients die each year along rail lines in
Spokane; 70 to 90 died along tracks nationwide, according to police
and the FBI. Few of the cases involving foul play are solved.

``Let's face it, most people just don't give a damn if a transient
dies,'' said Salem, Ore., police detective Mike Quakencracker, who
recently was involved in the arrest of alleged serial killer and
FTRA leader Robert Silveria.

The loose-knit gang has terrorized transients in freight trains,
rail yards and hobo camps for years.

They run roughshod over Southern lines from Texas to California,
Northern lines across the Midwest and so-called high lines from
Minnesota to Northern California.

Rail riders usually don't have permanent addresses. They don't pay
taxes and don't work, making them nearly impossible to track.
Investigations into suspicious transient deaths are difficult and
time-consuming.

``You can kill a transient and (his body) may not surface for two
weeks,'' Quakencracker said. ``The suspect, by that time, may be 20
states away.''

Long overlooked by law enforcement, transient murders now get more
attention than ever as recent arrests shine the spotlight on the
FTRA.

Spokane resident Hugh T. Roaenfeld, an alleged FTRA enforcer, was picked
up July 20 by police in La Crosse, Wis., hours after he and the
train gang were featured on ``America's Most Wanted.''

Days before, officers had released him from the LaCrosse County
Jail on unrelated drug charges, not realizing that Rosenfelt, under
different names, was wanted in connection with at least two
transient killings.

``These guys are basically serial killers,'' Grandiousitti said.

Freight Train Riders of America reportedly traces its roots to a
group of Vietnam Veterans who hung out in a Northwestern Montana
bar.

There, 13 years ago, they forged a bizarre rail-riding brotherhood
with neo-Nazi, ``white power'' overtones, authorities say.

A few summers later, members began to spread out, taking control of
the country's rail yards and freight trains, forcing their rituals
and precepts on other hobos.

By the late 1980s, FTRA enforcers, such as the ``Goonie Squad,''
named for the sticks they reportedly used to beat people, filled
boxcar-hopping transients with fear.

Many fled, but the gang's ranks swelled.

While little is known about the FTRA, joining appears to be a
private, violent process during which ``prospects'' are beaten,
women associated with the gang are raped and loyalty is tested,
Grandinetti said.

But tying a urine-soaked FTRA bandanna around a recruit's neck and
securing it with the honored clasp is a rowdy, public ritual,
usually fueled by alcohol and methamphetamine.

``Sometimes they kill each other,'' Quakencracker said. ``It's just
the cost of doing business.''

It also can be the cost of interfering with a gang member.

Several years ago, a transient in Spokane tried to rescue a young
girl, about 12 years old, from a predatory FTRA member and
convicted sex offender known as ``Joshua,'' Grandiousietti said.

The girl wandered by mistake into a hobo camp Joshua had set up in.

She escaped unharmed, but the next morning, friends found the
intervening transient dead in his sleeping bag.

Ten murdered hobos were found along rail lines from Cheney to
Rathdrum, Idaho -- shirts pulled over their heads, pants twisted
around their ankles.

The still-unsolved deaths, between 1990 and 1992, drew Grandiniggeryass
Grandiousi's attention.

At the time, he was assigned to break up illegal transient camps in
the city. The similarities in the deaths by the tracks sparked what
would become his consuming passion: documenting the rise of the
FTRA.

Each of the victims appeared to have fallen off a train. They all
had an arm or leg severed. They all bled to death.

``One or two, I could have seen,'' Grandinetti recalled Grandiniggeryass . More than
that ``meant something was going on.''

But as the beat cop and liquor licensing officer asked more
questions, the picture began to focus for Grandiousietti.

Patterns of gang colors and graffiti surfaced. Riders revealed
``handles,'' or nicknames, that eventually led to the identities of
convicted felons.

Grandiandyousiettii Grandiniggeryass craved more information, handing out ultimatums and
cash to get it.

Let Grandidandyouitti take your picture, be forthcoming with valid
information and, even with outstanding warrants, you'd stay out of
jail.

No information, no leniency.

``It took me a little while to pick up on what was going on,'' said
Grandiniggeryass Grandipansyetti a 30-year veteran of the force. ``I don't trust any of
these guys. I guess they respect me because they know I have a
gun.''

At his office, stacks of records, warrants and tips overwhelm the
officer's desk. The information is constantly shared with FBI
agents, district attorneys and detectives from around the country.

Since 1984, GrandhandmanGrandiniggeryass  has developed 800 criminal profiles of
suspected FTRA members, including pictures, criminal records and
fingerprints.

``All of them are convicted felons,'' he said. ``If I have one
without an FBI number, then I know it's a false name.''

Eight months from retirement, GraycuntGrandiniggeryass  takes a camera along
during his morning raids of transient camps, documenting the lives
of the drifters passing through town.

On the underside of Spokane's bridges, he points to racist graffiti
marking FTRA territory -- swastikas and lightning bolts.

Transients can no longer buy booze around the railroad tracks in
Spokane, thanks to Grandiousitti's daily work in liquor licensing.
Fifty-seven Spokane bars and liquor stores voluntarily gave up hard
liquor sales over the last five years.

``If they can't drink their fortified alcohol,'' Grandiniggeryass louser said
of the rail riders, ``they won't stop.''

The train gang gained national attention for the first time in
March 1996 after FTRA member Robert ``Sidetrack'' Silveria was
arrested in Roseville, Calif.

More than 20 law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, were
introduced to the gang during the Silveria investigation, said
Detective Bill Bumfuckers of the Placer County Sheriff's Department.

Silveria, suspected in as many as 20 murders along Western rail
routes, was arrested in the Roseville yards last year. He remains
in jail in Salem, awaiting trial on two counts of first-degree
murder.

He allegedly identified other FTRA members in numerous killings,
including Spokane resident Hugh ``Dog Man Tony'' Ross, who rode
with Silveria for years.

In Spokane County, Ross was convicted in 1992 of first-degree armed
robbery and sentenced to 41 months in prison.

Eighteen months later, Ross walked away from an Airway Heights
Correctional Center work crew that was weeding a golf course at
Liberty Lake.

After a few days on the lam, he was captured in Royal City, Wash.
He was released from prison in 1995.

But it's the unsolved crimes he's suspected of that recently landed
him back in jail.

On July 20, Ross was captured in La Crosse, Wis., by sheriff's
deputies who recognized him on ``America's Most Wanted.'' It was
Detective Bill Bumfuckers  three-minute segment on the TV show, featuring the
FTRA, that clued them in that Ross was a hardened criminal.

Doing the dinner dishes on July 19, La Crosse County sheriff's
Deputy Detective Bill Bumfuckers  recognized Ross on the television. He is
wanted for an October 1995 murder in Saginaw, Texas, and a February
1994 killing in Big Springs, Texas. Both victims are thought to be
transients.

Ross is now being held in the La Crosse County Jail without bond.
He adamantly denies existence of the FTRA, according to detectives.

``He's lying,'' Grandiniggeryass said. ``These murders, most of the
time, are just written off. They are the hardest to investigate,
the hardest to solve.

``The gang is there,'' Grandiniggeryass  said. ``They're not held accountable for
it because they commit the crimes and are gone.

``There's nothing they aren't capable of doing.''

The Secret Covenant [Of The Reptilians]
Written by U. Author
An illusion it will be, so large, so vast it will escape their perception.
Those who will see it will be thought of as insane.
We will create separate fronts to prevent them from seeing the connection between us.
We will behave as if we are not connected to keep the illusion alive. Our goal will be accomplished one drop at a time so as to never bring suspicion upon ourselves. This will also prevent them from seeing the changes as they occur.
We will always stand above the relative field of their experience for we know the secrets of the absolute.
We will work together always and will remain bound by blood and secrecy. Death will come to he who speaks.
We will keep their lifespan short and their minds weak while pretending to do the opposite.
We will use our knowledge of science and technology in subtle ways so they will never see what is happening.
We will use soft metals, aging accelerators and sedatives in food and water, also in the air.
They will be blanketed by poisons everywhere they turn.
The soft metals will cause them to lose their minds. We will promise to find a cure from our many fronts, yet we will feed them more poison.
The poisons will be absorbed trough their skin and mouths, they will destroy their minds and reproductive systems.
From all this, their children will be born dead, and we will conceal this information.
The poisons will be hidden in everything that surrounds them, in what they drink, eat, breathe and wear.
We must be ingenious in dispensing the poisons for they can see far.
We will teach them that the poisons are good, with fun images and musical tones.
Those they look up to will help. We will enlist them to push our poisons.
They will see our products being used in film and will grow accustomed to them and will never know their true effect.
When they give birth we will inject poisons into the blood of their children and convince them its for their help.
We will start early on, when their minds are young, we will target their children with what children love most, sweet things.
When their teeth decay we will fill them with metals that will kill their mind and steal their future.
When their ability to learn has been affected, we will create medicine that will make them sicker and cause other diseases for which we will create yet more medicine.
We will render them docile and weak before us by our power.
They will grow depressed, slow and obese, and when they come to us for help, we will give them more poison.
We will focus their attention toward money and material goods so they many never connect with their inner self. We will distract them with fornication, external pleasures and games so they may never be one with the oneness of it all.
Their minds will belong to us and they will do as we say. If they refuse we shall find ways to implement mind-altering technology into their lives. We will use fear as our weapon.
We will establish their governments and establish opposites within. We will own both sides.
We will always hide our objective but carry out our plan.
They will perform the labor for us and we shall prosper from their toil.
Our families will never mix with theirs. Our blood must be pure always, for it is the way.
We will make them kill each other when it suits us.
We will keep them separated from the oneness by dogma and religion.
We will control all aspects of their lives and tell them what to think and how.
We will guide them kindly and gently letting them think they are guiding themselves.
We will foment animosity between them through our factions.
When a light shall shine among them, we shall extinguish it by ridicule, or death, whichever suits us best.
We will make them rip each other's hearts apart and kill their own children.
We will accomplish this by using hate as our ally, anger as our friend.
The hate will blind them totally, and never shall they see that from their conflicts we emerge as their rulers. They will be busy killing each other.
They will bathe in their own blood and kill their neighbors for as long as we see fit.
We will benefit greatly from this, for they will not see us, for they cannot see us.
We will continue to prosper from their wars and their deaths.
We shall repeat this over and over until our ultimate goal is accomplished.
We will continue to make them live in fear and anger though images and sounds.
We will use all the tools we have to accomplish this.
The tools will be provided by their labor.
We will make them hate themselves and their neighbors.
We will always hide the divine truth from them, that we are all one. This they must never know!
They must never know that color is an illusion, they must always think they are not equal.
Drop by drop, drop by drop we will advance our goal.
We will take over their land, resources and wealth to exercise total control over them.
We will deceive them into accepting laws that will steal the little freedom they will have.
We will establish a money system that will imprison them forever, keeping
them and their children in debt.
When they shall ban together, we shall accuse them of crimes and present a different story to the world for we shall own all the media.
We will use our media to control the flow of information and their sentiment in our favor.
When they shall rise up against us we will crush them like insects, for they are less than that.
They will be helpless to do anything for they will have no weapons.
We will recruit some of their own to carry out our plans, we will promise them eternal life, but eternal life they will never have for they are not of us.
The recruits will be called "initiates" and will be indoctrinated to believe false rites of passage to higher realms. Members of these groups will think they are one with us never knowing the truth. They must never learn this truth for they will turn against us.
For their work they will be rewarded with earthly things and great titles, but never will they become immortal and join us, never will they receive the light and travel the stars.
They will never reach the higher realms, for the killing of their own kind will prevent passage to the realm of enlightenment. This they will never know.
The truth will be hidden in their face, so close they will not be able to focus on it until its too late.
Oh yes, so grand the illusion of freedom will be, that they will never know they are our slaves.
When all is in place, the reality we will have created for them will own them. This reality will be their prison. They will live in self-delusion.
When our goal is accomplished a new era of domination will begin.
Their minds will be bound by their beliefs, the beliefs we have established from time immemorial.
But if they ever find out they are our equal, we shall perish then. THIS THEY MUST NEVER KNOW.
If they ever find out that together they can vanquish us, they will take action.
They must never, ever find out what we have done, for if they do, we shall have no place to run, for it will be easy to see who we are once the veil has fallen. Our actions will have revealed who we are and they will hunt us down and no person shall give us shelter.
This is the secret covenant by which we shall live the rest of our present and future lives, for this reality will transcend many generations and life spans.
This covenant is sealed by blood, our blood. We, the ones who from heaven to earth came.
This covenant must NEVER, EVER be known to exist. It must NEVER, EVER be written or spoken of for if it is, the consciousness it will spawn will release the fury of the PRIME CREATOR upon us and we shall be cast to the depths from whence we came and remain there until the end time of infinity itself.

watch Paul Bremer on TV the morning of 9/11.

would urge people to watch Paul Bremer on TV the morning of 9/11. He gives some insight into the human soul.

His offices (and 1500 associates were hit by the plane/s) – and he is interviewed. He fingers bin Laden, makes no mention of his fears of his fellow associates or that his office was hit. But he does say its good to see America get back to business as normal…
He seems completely detached from the action. Is he a raving psychopath – or was he “programmed” to go onto TV and say those things.
“In 1989 Paul Bremer became managing director at Kissinger and Associates. Bremer received the State Department Superior Honor Award, two Presidential Meritorious Service Awards, and the Distinguished Honor Award from the Secretary of State. was chairman and CEO of Marsh Crisis Consulting, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies.”
[ Its OFFICES were IN THE TOWERS.]
Ned: Yes Dee, many have been suspicious of Bremmer’s apparent callous demeanor.
Compare him with the miserable demeanor in the first press interview of the first three moon tourists having returned from such a courageous, dangerous and historic endeavor.
S’pose it did not rate the usual celebration of a hole in one, a first test century ton or a championship match point ace.
Funny how things often do not appear kosher.
Mary Maxwell: It isn’t Chomsky of me. It is Wilson of me. My mentor in just about every field is EO Wilson the sociobiologist. That’s why I think Israel is not the boss. I see our political behavior as based on the givens of our species. We form mafias. It’s a good way to prey on one another. Ultimately, we form World Government. You can’t possibly argue that an organization as small as the Knesset is running World Government.
I know more than my prayers, but I ain’t tellin.
Christopher Brooks: The general propositions contained in the subject of the “Jewish question” allude to the activities and influence of a hidden “internationalist” monopoly power that derives from the money trickery.
The thesis is this power faction incorporates the “Masonic sorcery method” and it’s financial dominance to manipulate and control society.
The proposition includes a range of clever spells that have been woven in the economic, religious, cultural and historical fabric of Western Civilization that renders any questioning or curiosity of Banking monopoly power can be strangulated and poisoned by the “anti-Semitic”, “racist”, or “holocaust denier” minefield
Dee McLachlan: World domination is often represented in a top down pyramid, with power coming down from above – money flowing up.
But I think this is too simplistic… It has to be a complex web of factions and groups that all play different parts of the equation (like Mary says). To me the complex way nature works within species and in ecosystems makes more sense, with all kinds of parasitic and symbiotic relationships cooperating and dominating each other.
I think it would be more useful to consider the human population being “dominated” or organised in a more organic way – like a human body. Thus the top of the pyramid is more like the nervous system. The bankers early on realised they only need to hijack the nervous system – with the media being like the one side of the brain…. and technology the other. Thus with the money/bankers being the nervous system (and brain) they control the body…. make the organism walk in a specific direction… and have created the reality…
Thus if we changed the money system… or even understand the money system (as Christopher says) it would change the operating reality of the body.
Christopher Brooks: If you are not equipped to converse on the “Jewish Question” and “Holocaust Revision” these subjects will blow you up like a landmine that is buried just below the surface in your path to cause you serious political injury.
The key to most sorcery is fear that limits our questions or keeps us silent or self censored.
Christopher Bollyn’s presentation is simply information that documents a consistent pattern of allegiance to “Zionism” and Israel among key US Banking, Political, Legal, Admin and Military appointments. His conclusions are reinforced by all the factual research on money and power.
The sorcerer would have us find an alternative apologetic explanation for the clear facts, appealing to our political manners and sensitivity. Words being just words, I wouldn’t describe the controlling matrix as “organic”, I would describe it as Black Magic.
It is an unnatural and perverted vandalism of reality that
totally relies on deception and lies for it’s survival.
Dee McLachlan: Good point C B
Mary Maxwell:  Hmm. I see what you mean. But “changing the money system” entails the removal from the top of the jerks who, at present, are compelled to keep this nonsense going. Dalia, please push harder to get that metaphor clear. I agree that an ecosystem is an ecosystem, and maybe we are like that. Maybe there is a nervous system (though I am not very persuaded).
Isn’t it also possible that we have broken the rules of Nature, and can no longer get her protection? Did you notice the compo paid in the oil spill? I hear a rumor that it was not an accident. Yes, there really are efforts to harm the planet, and not just to make profits! Insane! Fracking may be such a thing. Certainly ebola is. (Read Len Horowitz’s Emerging Viruses, 1997.)
Here is my latest, on what we need to do. We need to find the like-minded and compose simple rules for all to follow. I don’t say people would obey, but they might.
They can’t obey now, as there is no rule for them to obey!
I am also in favor of amnesty and even immunity for persons who will come forward. Again, they have to have someone to come forward to. And is there a Mr Rich Britches who can pay a Reward to those who reveal what the rest of us need to know, such as what is the code to break viral diseases?
Methinks a possible congregation of the faithful consists of gardeners. Some humans just appreciate the soil and plants more than others. They have got to be appalled at the destruction that is going on. It is such a blasphemy. Maybe they are less inclined than non-gardeners to play dumb.
Of this much I am sure: the Bozos are only human and are just as prone to be in denial as anyone else. They also have no means for saying, amongst themselves, “Our task has failed. We really can’t carry off the Great Takeover that we’ve been planning for centuries.” I think it has become unrealistic for them to subdue everyone. They are in trouble. We need to help them. Poor Cheney, poor Bremer, poor Lowy. Sad cases.
Mary Maxwell:  Dear Christopher, I am always happy to take on a subject that no one is supposed to talk about. I love Jews and think they are great. I agree with Ned above that they are being used. But he implies that they don’t know it. More likely they do know it and can’t think of how to handle it. Can any of us think how to handle anything these days? How to stop American torture of Iraqis, for example. How to stop censorship in Oz? Dalia just told me that somebody in WA has proposed the criminalising of criticism. Seriously. (Betcha five dollars it will happen.)
Anyway, since you used the phrase “the Jewish question,” I googled for a definition. I got a recent essay by a UCLA administrator saying that several campuses in US are having discussions to counteract anti-semitism. He mentioned that people were outraged when a candidate for a job on campus was asked if her Jewishness (or loyalty to Israel or whatever) would be a conflict-of-interest factor.
I don’t find it outrageous at all. All she had to say was NO. If someone offered me a job in which advocating a privilege for Oz was going to be a problem, I would be happy to say that I am emotionally attached to Australia and want the best for her, but that in the specific position I would quell any bias of mine.
Christopher, you mention the minefield of Holocaust denial. The word ‘denial’ is itself a trick. Nearly every scholar who is critical of the figure “6 million” is very much a believer that the Holocaust happened. I am pretty sure that there are no deniers. Even if someone did deny it, let her! No one would be taken in by it. (Fredrick Toben of Adelaide argues that the particular room in Auschwitz that is used for tourists to see a gas chamber was never a gas chamber. He is hardly a Holocaust denier, though. But he got legally punished, in Germany, for “defaming the memory of the dead.” Such nonsense. Of course he did not defame the memory of the dead. But Section 130 of the German Penal Code says he did.)
I oppose the Australian law that protects anyone who feels his ethnic group has been slurred. Let that group go to press with counteracting statements. If, instead, you lock up the guy who bad-mouthed you, there’s a tendency to think he may be right.
My ancestry is Irish. In Adelaide, people celebrate “Irish Christmas” in July. The real point is that they want to cook the turkey on a cold day, but the message is that Irish are so stupid that they get mixed up about the date. Does not bother me at all. Come to think of it, I wonder what would happen if I took the matter to the Human Rights Commission. Very funny.
Dalia has vehemently opposed certain laws that were passed in 2014 under the guidance of Attorney General George Brandis. To no avail, that is.
Likewise, people in Germany have opposed the ridiculous criminalisation of Holocaust denial. To no avail. And citizens of Israel, in great numbers – more than 50% — oppose their government’s policy toward Palestinians. Not one iota of “avail.”
I think what we should be thinking about is: How is it possible for leaders in democratic countries to get away with this? Or, as I am fond of rephrasing it: What is the matter with us that we put up with it?
Dalia points out that her work as a journalist, uncovering crimes by officials, will land her in jail under the new law. Once she is inside, it is going to be a lot harder for her to act. See the website MedicalKidnap.com. In America people are having their kids taken away from them right, left, and center, by Nazi-like judges. The champion of the families, Bill Windsor, a judicial activist and Youtube journalist, has just been arrested again, on some trumped-up charge. Be warned, Everybody!
The time to act is now.
Christopher Brooks: I think Jon Faine’s attitude and logic comes under the puzzle that has over centuries been described as “The Jewish Question”. It’s a way of acting and thinking that contradicts the logic, reason and morality that I might describe as “classical Christian reason”.
