Violent video games are training children to kill

The question is how to alert parents to the dangers hiding in their children's video games without sounding like just another voice on a broken old record.
The broken record would be about violence, and it would seem that the warnings have all been issued.
But, try these three points for starters:
# If a parent wanted their children to develop attitudes like Gary Ridgway, the confessed killer of at least 48 women, these games might provide a good training ground.
# These video games are not spectator activities, like going to a violent movie. They use simulation techniques that are used to teach people to fly a plane, drive a car or fight wars.
# Parents cannot trust their neighborhood stores to not sell hyper-violent video games to young children.
Sound desperate? If so, take a look at the new video by Mothers Against Violence in America. It is part of its "Campaign for a Game Smart Community," and asks, "Do you know what video games your children are playing?"
The Mothers Against Violence video even upsets professionals who are used to working with violence. For example, Janice Ellis, Snohomish County prosecutor, and Bruce Eklund, assistant administrator of the Snohomish County Juvenile Court, brought the group's video to my attention. Both were dismayed with game-based human behavior that transcends mere violence.
But, take the three concerns one at a time.
First, people were thoroughly chilled by confessed serial killer Ridgway's admissions and descriptions a week ago.
Even the sanitized details within the King County prosecutor's summary are so bad that the cover page warns that the report "... contains graphic and disturbing descriptions," which may not be suitable for every reader.
Ridgway remembers where he dumped bodies, how he planned his killings and tricked people into his traps, the descriptions of his many cars, and the floor plans of his several homes. He doesn't remember the faces or names of the 48 victims he admitted killing.
In his words, "Like I said, they didn't mean anything to me."
He killed only women. He killed no men, he said, " 'cause they didn't give no sexual gratification to me."
And, this is largely what some well-known video games do. Make victims into something much less than human. They are killed. Their heads are cut off and blood spurts from their necks.
The dead bodies are kicked and urinated on. The killer laughs at them and makes crude sexual comments. Sex and violence weave into deadly behaviors, over and over.
The video game scripts could be culled from Gary Ridgway's confession.
Second, these games are not movies. Nor are they spectator games. Rather, they are simulations.
The games use techniques known to be effective in teaching young people to drive cars or go to war. Simulation, Eklund points out, is designed to hone the trainee's instincts, to help them build habits that that they can carry out quickly, without second thoughts.
Video games laced with human atrocities help young, impressionable people practice killing without care.
The youngsters who hold the joysticks and sit at the keyboards hold the guns and axes. Young players practice cutting heads off. They rehearse shooting police officers and urinating on them.
It is worth stating again. Every time a youngster plays one of these games, parents, they are in simulation. They practice self-talk, saying things to dehumanize their victims. They practicing laughing at others' pain and justifying murder. The use words to humiliate others and see how dehumanizing acts feel.
Third, the Mothers Against Violence group sent underage youngsters into familiar stores, and 15 out of 17 of the stores sold adult games to children under 12.
Actually, it is disturbing that these games excite some adults, but the rating system might manage the damage better than selling every game to every age. But, the ratings do no good if retailers don't honor them.
As always, this means parents and other caring adults have to be the last line of defense for children in their own care. And, in the overwhelming number of cases in which parents protect, nurture and guide their children, their actions work.
One danger for children lies in any tendency of parents to think "not my child."
Before drawing that conclusion they should consider four facts.
# Video games are expected to reach $20 billion in sales this year. That is a sizable piece of the growing economy everybody is hoping for, and it works directly against what most parents want for their children.
# Every year, enough video games are sold to put two of them in every American household.
# More than nine of every 10 American children play video games.
# Research shows that playing violent video games increases children's violent thoughts and aggressive behaviors.
The first, last and best line of defense for most children is their parents. On the other hand, children whose parents do not defend them are more influenced by video games than are other children. Children who are protected by their parents are growing up with children who are not.
So parents have to first protect and nurture their own children, but it helps when they also help protect and nurture other children.
I won't name the most violent video games because I won't advertise them. Violent video games need only change their names or move the violence into other games. Children just need for their parents to play their video games with them.

Australia's infamous "lesbian killers" are destined to spend the next few decades behind bars.

Valerie Page Parashumti, 19, and Jessica Ellen Stasinowsky, 21, known in Australia as the "lesbian killers," have been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of 16-year-old Stacey Mitchell in December 2006.

The couple will not be allowed to apply for parole for another 20 to 30 years.

Parashumti and Stasinowsky pleaded guilty in November, and there is no indication that they will appeal the decision. The sentencing took place earlier this month at the court of Perth, in Western Australia.

"They could appeal the sentence," Val Buchanan, spokesperson with the Supreme Court of Perth, told ABC News, but "I have not heard that they have appealed the decision."

"Once you plead guilty, you get a life sentence," added Buchanan.

The case has hit the headlines in Australia and across the world because the murderers displayed exceptional violence and sadism.

Mitchell met the couple after she left her parents' home. She shared a house with Parashumti and Stasinowsky.

The court heard that Stasinowsky grew jealous of Mitchell.

Feeling that she had to prove that Mitchell meant nothing to her, Parashumti — who reportedly drank blood as part of a vampire cult — killed Mitchell.

The day the murder took place, the couple drank with Stacey and made her drink sleeping pills before attacking her in their kitchen.

Parashumti hit Mitchell with a concrete block. Stasinowsky then strangled Mitchell with a belt chain and beat her.

After Mitchell passed out 30 minutes later, the court heard that the couple became sexually aroused and kissed each other.

They filmed the murder scene on their mobile phone, while making fun of Mitchell.

Mitchell's parents alerted police that their daughter had gone missing.

Police found the teenager's body in a garbage bin at the couple's property.

"In Australia, everyone is quite disgusted with them," Todd Cardy, reporter with the Perth Sunday Times, told ABC News. "This has been a very big story."



A lesbian member of a blood-drinking vampire cult and her lover have been sentenced to life in prison for the sexually-motivated murder of their housemate.

Jessica Stasinowsky, 21, and Valerie Parashumti, 19, pleaded guilty to bludgeoning 16-year-old Stacey Mitchell to death with a concrete block in 2006 because she was “annoying”, the Australian Associated Press reported.

Judge Peter Blaxell said the murder, in Perth, Western Australia, was “sexually perverse” and “evil”, after the court was told the two lesbian lovers became aroused as they battered the teenage girl and then kissed while standing over her body as she lay dying.

“You have each had more than a year in custody to reflect upon the evilness of your crime, yet you still lack remorse and obviously place no value on the sanctity of human life,” Mr Blaxell said in handing down the life sentences.

“There is also the added problem that you each enjoy being sexually aroused by the infliction of violence,” he said.

When Stacey moved into a house the lovers were sharing, Stasinowsky immediately hated her because she thought the teenager was flirting with her lover, the court heard.

Parashumti felt the need to prove that Stacey meant nothing to her, so she and Stasinowsky decided to kill her.

On the day of the murder, the trio drank whiskey in the kitchen and Stacey took tablets which made her drowsy.

Parashumti crept up behind Stacey and started hitting her on the head with a concrete slab, while Stasinowsky took off a dog chain belt and began to strangle her.

Stacey took at least 45 minutes to die, but Stasinowsky later told a prison officer she wished it had lasted longer.

“Even more appalling are your admissions to the effect that at the time of the murder you were each sexually excited by the violence of the event,” said Judge Blaxell.

The killers made a mobile phone video of the murder scene, laughing and mocking their victim, and then dumped her body upside down in a garbage bin in a back shed.

A psychologist found Parashumti, who drank blood as part of a vampire subculture, had very strong sexual sadistic tendencies and was sexually aroused by physical torture and violence.

When reports of Chinese citizens eating human fetuses for health reasons surfaced in Hong Kong last year, many dismissed them as fiction . . , but when Eastweek and Eastern Express, two English-language publications based in Hong Kong, investigated, the reporters were in for a shock.

DISCOVERY IN CHINA

One investigator feigned illness and asked a Shenzhen hospital doctor for fetuses. Holding up a fist-sized glass bottle stuffed with ten thumb-sized unborns, the doctor said, “[They were] all aborted this morning. You can take them. We are a state-run hospital and don’t charge anything.” A private hospital spokes*man offered to sell the reporters full-term unborn, which he claimed “contain the best healing qualities.”

Zou Qin, a doctor who claimed to have aborted several hundred unborn and eaten 100 fetuses herself, said, “People normally prefer [fetuses from] young women, and even better, the first boy and a male.” ................

Animal Penises are commonly eaten in many Oriental nations. The penis is generally cooked by steaming or deep frying, and can also be eaten raw. There are specialized restaurants in penis delicacies. Some penises are served raw, like sushi, others can be cooked. You can serve dog clammy testicles and penis, which is gray and shiny. The Newcastle team is pioneering stem cell work
UK scientists have applied for permission to create embryos by fusing human DNA with cow eggs.

Researchers from Newcastle University and Kings College, London, have asked the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority for a three-year licence.

The hybrid human-bovine embryos would be used for stem cell research and would not be allowed to develop for more than a few days............

No one could accuse the Chinese of being squeamish about the things they eat – monkeys' brains, owls' eyes, bears' paws and deep fried scorpions are all items on the menu. But most dishes revered as national favourites sound as harmless as boiled rice when compared to the latest pint de jour allegedly gaining favour in Shenzhen – human foetus.

Rumours that dead embryos were being used as dietary supplements started to spread early last year with reports that some doctors in Shenzhen hospitals were eating dead foetuses after carrying out abortions. The doctors allegedly defended their actions by saying the embryos were good for their skin and general health.

A trend was set and soon reports circulated that doctors in the city were promoting foetuses as a human tonic. Hospital cleaning women were seen fighting each other to take the treasured human remains home. Last month, reporters from EastWeek – a sister publication of Eastern Express – went to Shenzhen to see if the rumours could be substantiated. On March 7, a reporter entered the state-run Shenzhen Health Centre for Women and Children feigning illness and asked a female doctor for a foetus. The doctor said the department was out of stock but to come again.

The next day the reporter returned at lunch time. The doctor eventually emerged from the operating theatre holding a fist size glass bottle stuffed with thumbsized foetuses.

She said: 'There are 10 foetuses here, all aborted this morning. You can take them. We are a state hospital and don't charge anything.

'Normally, we doctors take them home to eat – all free. Since you don't look well, you can take them.'

Not every state hospital is as generous with its dead embryos as the Health Centre for Women and Children. At the Shenzhen People's Hospital, for example, the reporter was in for a surprise.

When a Ms. Yang, the head nurse, was asked for foetuses, she looked anxious and asked other staff to leave. After closing the door, she asked the undercover buyer in a low voice: 'Where did you (get to) know that we sell foetuses?'

The reporter answered: 'A doctor friend in Hong Kong told me.'

'Who? What is his/her name?'

The reporter was not prepared for this line of questioning and could not come up with a name. Yang told him that foetuses were only for sale within the hospital, and were not for public purchase. She added that some staff would, however, sell the foetuses on to Hong Kong buyers.

The reporter learned that the going rate for a foetus was $10 but when the merchandise was in short supply, the price could go up to $20. But these prices are pin money compared to those set by private clinics, which are said to make a fortune selling foetuses. One chap on Bong Men Lao Street charges $300 for one foetus. The person in charge of the clinic is a man in his 60's. When he saw the ailing reporter, he offered to take an order for foetuses that had reached full-term and which, it is claimed, contain the best healing properties. When a female doctor named Yang – no relation – of Sin Hua clinic was asked whether foetuses were edible, she said emphatically: 'Of course they are. They are even better than placentas.

'They can make your skin smoother, your body stronger and are good for kidneys. When I was in an army hospital in Jiangti province, I often brought foetuses home. They were pink, like little mice, with hands and feet. Normally, I buy some pork to make soup (with the foetuses added). I know they are human beings, and (eating them) feels disgusting. But at that time, it was already very popular.'

A Mr. Cheng from Hong Kong claims he has been eating foetus soup for more than six months. To begin, the man, in his 40's, would make the trip to Shenzhen frequently for business and was introduced to foetuses by friends. He says he met a number of professors and doctors in government hospitals who helped him buy the foetuses. 'At first, I felt uncomfortable, but doctors said the substances in foetuses could help cure my asthma. I started taking them and gradually, the asthma disappeared,' Cheng said.

Now, Cheng only eats foetuses occasionally to top up his treatment, but there was a time when he made regular cross border trips with the gruesome merchandise. 'Everytime [I made the trip], I carried a Thermos flask to Shenzhen and brought the foetuses back to Hong Kong to make soup. If they gave me 20 or 30 at a time, I put them in the refrigerator. I didn't have the soup every day – it depended on the supply.

'Usually, I washed the foetuses clean, and added ginger, orange peel and pork to make soup. After taking it for a while, I felt a lot better and my asthma disappeared. I used to take placenta, but it was not so helpful.' When asked if he was concerned about the foetuses containing diseases, Cheng was dismissive. 'I bought them from government hospitals. They would check the pregnant women before doing the operations and only sell them to me if there was no problem. Also, I always boil them over high heat which kills any bacteria.' Although Cheng has overcome any squeamishness over eating foetus soup, he says he draw the line at consuming whole dead embryos. He also refrains from telling people of his grisly dietary habits.

Zou Qin, 32, a woman from Hubei with the fine skin of a someone several years younger, attributes her well preserved looks to a diet of foetuses. As a doctor at the Lun Hu Clinic, Zou has carried out abortions on several hundred patients. She believes foetuses are highly nutritious and claims to have eaten more than 100 in the past six months. She pulls out a foetus specimen before a reporter and explains the selection criteria. 'People normally prefer (foetuses of) young women, and even better, the first baby and a male.' She adds: 'They are wasted if we don't eat them. The women who receive abortions here don't want the foetuses. Also, the foetuses are already dead [when we eat them]. We don't carry out abortions just to eat the foetuses.

'Before, my sister's children were very weak. I heard that foetuses were good for your health and started taking some to my nephews,' Zou says, without remorse. 'I wash them with clear water until they look transparent white and then stew them. Making soup is best.' But she admits there are drawbacks to this dubious delicacy. 'Foetuses are very smelly and not everybody can take the stink,' she said. 'You can also make meat cakes by mixing foetuses with minced meat but you have to add more ginger and chives to get rid of the smell.'

Hong Kong legislator Dr. Tan Siu-tong is surprised that it could be within anyone's capability to overcome the stench of a dead foetus, even if their stomachs are lined with lead. 'When all the placental tissue is dead, the smell is awful and is enough to make you feel sick. It is like having a dead mouse in the house,' he said.

The foetuses allegedly eaten by the Chinese are all provided by China's extensive abortion services. Last year, doctors in the People's Hospital – the biggest hospital in Shenzhen – carried out more than 7,000 terminations, 509 on Hong Kong women. The Hong Kong Family Planning Association (FPA) estimates that 24 per cent of all abortions on Hong Kong women are performed in the dubious surroundings of a Chinese hospital. A Ms. Li from Hong Kong has had two abortions in Shenzhen but has never heard of people eating foetuses. 'But I didn't want the babies, so after the abortions, I just left them with the hospital,' she says. 'I didn't want to look at them, and I certainly didn't want to keep them. Foetuses of two or three months are just water and blood when they come out. They are so small, how can you eat them?'

Doctors in the territory have responded with disgust and incredulity to stories of people supplementing their diets with foetuses. Many have read articles of foetal cannibalism but none has been able to verify the reports. They are treating the issue with skepticism. Dr. Margaret Kwan, a gynecologist who until two weeks ago held the post of chief executive at the FPA, says: 'This is the strangest thing I have ever heard coming out of China. I just hope it is not true.'

Dr. Warren Lee, president of the Hong Kong Nutrition Association, is aware of the unsavory rumours. 'Eating foetuses is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine and is deeply founded in Chinese folklore. In terms of nutrition, a foetus would be a good source of protein and fats, and there are minerals in bone. But I don't know if eating foetuses is just folklore or more than that,' he says. According to Lee, it is conceivable that foetuses are rich in certain hormones that are beneficial to the adult human body, but should this be the case, the foetal matter would have to be converted into an injectible form for best results, as most hormones including the hormone for diabetes, insulin – are broken down in the digestive system before they have a chance to be absorbed by the body.

But Lee suggests that anyone who eats a foetus would be seeking a remedy that is far more elusive than a hormone or mineral. 'Some people may think there is also an unidentified substance or chemical that has healing powers, but there is no evidence that this is true.' Lee urges people to be wary – 'There are people out there who just want to make money and they will come up with all sorts of formulas or substances, which, they say will cure diseases.'

As a child, Patrick Yau was fed on human placentas by his mother who worked at a local hospital, but in his current position as a psychologist with the Social Welfare Department he is both repulsed and shocked by the notion of eating foetuses. 'As a Catholic, I object to abortions because I believe the foetus is a human life, and I certainly object to eating a dead baby after it has been aborted,' he says. Yau concedes that in China, where the one child policy has turned abortions into an acceptable remedy to an unfortunate human blunder, people may have adopted a new outlook on life before birth, such that embryos are stripped of their status as human beings.

But Tang fails to understand how anyone anywhere can convince themselves 'that they are just eating an organism when they are actually eating a dead body'. 'It may not be a formed human being, but when they think about it most people would think: 'Ugh! No, I can't eat that.' I don't think civilized people with an education could do that sort of thing.'

Dr. Wong, a Hong Kong doctor who practices Western medicine, thinks only the ignorant would eat human foetuses. He explains that foetuses contain mucoploysaccharide, which is beneficial to the metabolism, but states that it can be found in a lot of other food – Chinese doctor Chu Ho-Ting agrees that there is no place for foetuses in medicine, and suggests that it might even be unhealthy if the pregnant woman was infected by disease.

'Most bacteria can be killed under 100 degree heat but some require 400 degrees. Some people believe eating foetuses can strengthen the immunity of the human body against diseases, but this is wrong. Although foetuses contain protein, they are not as nutritious as placenta, which contains different kinds of nutrients. But even placenta has to be taken with other Chinese herbs.'

This world is tolerating and even at times encourages abortion. This world tolerates the research done on preborn infants. Facts that I never wanted to place before you have been going on in this world, in the name of medical research.

Just one example was reported in Life Advocate, Feb. 1995 in an article by Denise Billings, titled 'Federal Cannibalism': 'Tissue cultures are obtained by dropping still living babies into meat grinders and homogenizing them, according to the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine.'

Now, though, even a more horrid nightmare is taking place: the Chinese are actually eating preborn children.

The newswires out of Hong Kong released the information that Chinese doctors are eating aborted babies and selling the children as health food. The Eastern Express reports on a doctor they interviewed who stated that the babies are 'even better than placentas' referring to the nutritional value.

From the Kyodo News Service, Japan Economic Newswire, dateline Hong Kong, April 12, 1995, we quote:

'"They can make your skin smoother, your body stronger and are good for the kidneys," said the female doctor from the southern Chinese city 's Sin Hua Clinic.'

A female doctor at the city's Luo Eu Clinic, who has carried out hundreds of abortions, reportedly claimed to have eaten 100 fetuses in the past six months. She was quoted as saying the best were firstborn males from young women.

'I wash them with clear water until they look transparent white and then stew them. Making soup is best.' she was quoted as saying, adding, 'They are wasted if we don't eat them.'

In The Daily Telegraph, Bejing, April 13, 1995, a story by Yojana Sharma and Graham Hutchings repeated the facts surrounding the cannibalism taking place. The sale of the babies for nutritional value was not overlooked.

A woman doctor, referred to only as Wang, from the Sin Hua Clinic, Shenzhen, was quoted as saying, 'The fetuses were even better than placentae' in nutritional value. 'They make your skin smoother, your body stronger and are good for the kidneys' she said. Dr. Warren Lee, president of the Hong Kong Nutrition Association, said: 'Eating fetuses is a traditional Chinese medicine deeply founded in folklore.'

As hard as it must be to read the reports coming out of China, it has been much harder for me to relate them to you. As I read these reports on my desk, I remember the words so often said to me by non-active pro-lifers: 'It can't get any worse!' Well, it is worse.

The attack against the preborn child has reached nightmarish proportions. Yet, still, people say they just can't come to the abortion mills to pray to end this holocaust. I have often thought in the past several weeks what God will do to these Chinese cannibalists.

Then I think about what God will do to the United States. He has given us so much and we in turn do so little to stop this holocaust.

'Father, forgive them for they know not what they do' will be the prayer for the Chinese. Unfortunately, for the Americans, we do know and we choose to do nothing. God help us all.

People don't like to hear about hell. But I'm here to tell you that if Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, you are on your way to hell. Some of you will be upset at this bad news. Hell may not be a politically correct topic these days, but many people enter hell everyday. Out of the 120,000 people that die everyday, most end up in hell. Hell is a real place despite the fact that people laugh and say that they want to go there. They simply don't understand how terrible hell is. Just because you've never seen hell doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We have a searing, accurate description of what hell is like in God's word. (We'll get to some scriptures in a minute) Hell is awful and if you don't believe in Jesus, you'd better get on the stick or else that's going to be your eternal destination.

Satan, the god of this world, WILL NOT always cause havoc. His doom is already foretold, "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Revelation 20:10)

Did you know that if you do not belong to Jesus Christ you belong to Satan? You don't have to be a card carrying Satanist to serve Satan. You don't have to be a murderer, drunkard or drug addict, either. All you have to do is ignore Jesus Christ. If you don't have Jesus today, you are deceived and hell bound--you are a child of hell, a child of the devil.

How many times have I heard someone say, "A loving God wouldn't put His creatures in hell." Well I have news for you, friend, God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9). Know ye not that hell was not created for man? Hell was created for the devil and his angels--

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS. (Matthew 25:41)

Men go to hell because they choose the devil's way and reject the Lord Jesus Christ. God is holy and will not allow any sin in His kingdom. As a result, when people die in their sins they are forever banished from the presence of God to a fiery place called hell--a place of shame, contempt, and torment. Incidentally, Satan won't be ruling in the lake of fire. He'll be condemned and tormented just like everybody else--

the devil...shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 20:10)

Think about this...God, out of profound love for you--a vile sinner who has transgressed His commandments--let His own beautiful, dear Son be sacrificed for YOUR sins! Jesus wasn't a sinner. He didn't sin one time. He didn't die for Himself. He died for you. To save YOU. That's why He is called the Saviour. Because He SAVES from hell and sin! If you reject His sacrifice and trod it underfoot it should not be too hard for you to understand that the same God who sacrificed His beloved Son will expeditiously cast your rebellious hind parts into hell and the lake of fire. NOTHING unclean will ever enter God's heaven--and all unregenerate people are unclean. I too was once dead in trespasses and sins, but one lovely day I turned my face to Jesus and got washed in the blood. You can too--no matter what you've done.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18

God does not want you in hell! Jesus came to save you from that horrible place! Get right with Jesus and you won't go there! Look at these scriptures:

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die... (Ezekiel 33:11)

The Lord is...not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (II Peter 3:9)

The Bible says that God loves you so much that the Creator of this universe (Jesus Christ) came to "taste death" for every man. Jesus wasn't just some baby for a manger scene. He is God come in the flesh to destroy the power of death and hell--He holds the keys, people! If you say yes to Jesus, hell won't be your final destination. If you say no to Jesus, hell will be your eternal home. There is no getting out and no comfort--it's everlasting.

Regardless of whether you believe it or not, hell exists and the Bible says that it is never full. I've heard folks say that hell is not mentioned in the Bible or that hell is just the grave. Well, let's take a look at what the Bible says. Here are a few scriptures that deal with hell and the lake of fire (at the final judgment, hell, death and those not written in the book of life will be cast into the lake fire):

Matthew 25:41 (Jesus speaking to people at final judgment), ...Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

Revelation 14:11, And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night...

Revelation 20:12, 15, And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life...And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Matthew 10:28, And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Luke 12:5, But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which AFTER he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Matthew 18:8, 9 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Matthew 25:46, And these shall go away into EVERLASTING punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

II Thessalonians 1:9 Who shall be punished with EVERLASTING destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.

Isaiah 66:24, And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be abhorring unto all flesh.

Mark 9:44 (speaking of hell), Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Jude 7, Sodom and Gomorrha...are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Matthew 22:13, ...Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 13:41-42, The Son of man (Jesus) shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Revelation 21:8, But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Psalm 9:17, The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Isaiah 14:99-11, 15 (referring to Lucifer), Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee...all they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee...thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Daniel 12:2, And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and EVERLASTING contempt.

The following is a true story as told by the Lord Jesus in Luke 16:19-31:

19. There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20. And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

State Churches



There are many in the Body of Christ today saying, "there is something wrong in the church today". Some even comment that it seems so business oriented, and man-pleasing. While many can go on discussing what they believe is wrong with the Church today, I have noticed the absence of what I believe is a large factor in the equation of the problems in the Church today.



Have you every heard of 501(c)3? How about non-profit organizations? What is a 501(c)3? It is a classification given by the government to all clubs, organizations, etc., that file a form with them to gain(?) benefits (like tax-exempt status). When a Church files this form(s) with the government the Church no longer is the Church of Jesus Christ, but has taken on a different form, that is, the form of a corporation (or a state church). They have incorporated. In other words, Jesus Christ is no longer their Head, instead the governemnt is.



Looking back to Colonial America, a Baptist preacher in Massachusetts named Isaac Backus, and one in Virginia named John Leland, had significant impact on the Founding Fathers in the matters of Church and State relations. Backus was relentless in his condemnation of church corporations.



In September, 1791, the Warren Association met to consider incorporation for Baptist churches. Backus spoke against it and incoporation was voted down. They also defeated a measure to let each church decide for itself whether to incorporate or not. [1]



In 1810, Barnes sought to force church incorporation on those Baptists who believed that incorporation was an unchristian surrender of a churches power to the State. Barnes' case failed.



John Leland, also had strong views. He believed that the "Government has no more to do with the religious opinions of men than it has with principles of mathematics. " [2]



In 1785, a bill came up in the Virginia Legislature to tax the people to pay pastors. The Hanover Presbyterians opposed the bill in a memorial. [3]



Throughout James Madison's life he fought against taxing people to support pastors, and against church incorporation. In the debate on the infamous "Religious Assessments Bill" he noted a list of the evils that would follow assessments and church incorporation. He believed that:



1. Regulation of religion is not within civil power,



2. Religion needs no `artificial props',



3. History proves religious Establishments were detrimental, and



4. These benefits would `entangle the state' in determining which were Christian and which were heretical. [4]



Moving on, under the First Amendment the church is non-taxable, not tax exempt. The separation of church and state that is widely publicized today is incorrect. The First Amendment tells us that the government is not to have any say in the doings of the church. In England they had left the state run church of the king so they could worship God in spirit and in truth.



Does the IRS hate the Gospel and despise Bible-believing Christians? Has the IRS become a police-state agency that regularly persecutes churches, pastors, and ministries that still believe in old-fashioned patriotism? Listed below are 35 things the IRS contends are prohibited of churches and ministries. A pastor or ministry leader who violates the guidelines of the IRS on these 35 prohibitions can have his church or group's tax exemption revoked and be dealt with harshly by the IRS.
